While many hospitals are now completing long-deferred capital projects in the last few years, others with equally long-standing needs have yet to initiate a facility planning effort. Many of these hospitals will need to move forward soon to remain competitive, yet they face the prospect of a coming cycle of belt tightening.
DGA's healthcare facility plans are rooted in the solid financial planning that is critical for success.
Our solutions are based on programs that both support the organization's competitive strategy and will generate sufficient revenues to cover financing costs. We:
- Guide the planning process
- Develop and/or validate strategies, program goals and objectives
- Define programs and project utilization (beds, clinical and ancillary departments)
- Assure the financial viability of program scenarios
From Program to Facility Plan
Once a solid program and financial scenario is in place, we perform the detailed facility planning to create a successful building — or an entire campus. We:
- Translate programs into space requirements and functional relationships
- Integrate financial planning and facility phasing schemes
- Support architects and engineers in conceptual and schematic design
The DGA consulting team has successfully completed numerous hospital replacement projects, including new facilities for specialty hospitals, new hospital campuses and multi-hospital consolidations. Our ambulatory care and medical office building projects range from 40,000 to 400,000 square feet.
