ACO PLANNING, DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION
DGA Partners has helped develop some of the now more mature and successful payer and risk-contracting organizations. We are well prepared to assist hospitals and health systems in understanding the opportunity and challenges presented by ACOs. DGA can help your organization assess the opportunity for ACO development, from initial understanding to strategy and organizational readiness, to financial and operational development.

ACO Strategy Development

DGA provides the strategic and feasibility analysis required to evaluate launching an ACO, assuring that if and when the organization moves to detailed development planning, it will be a productive investment. We address investment requirements, risk and return, shared savings and their timing and division and how and what physicians will be involved. We look at possible ACO impacts on volumes and revenues, whether from your own ACO or another that might emerge in the market. We consider whether the transformations generated by a Medicare ACO will create opportunities for contracting with health plans or self-insured employers.

Organizational Readiness

Many organizations have PHOs or other organizational structures that can support ACO development. The first step in ACO planning is to assess how the organization’s existing capabilities relate to the organizational, clinical integration and care management requirements for an ACO.

Planning for Operational and Financial Development

Once you have made the decision to move ahead, DGA can assist with detailed preparation including developing an organizational structure, planning for quality management and operations, and financial structure and modeling.
